Review: Doreanse Metro Thong

Doreanse Metro ThongAwhile back I tried my first pair of underwear from Doreanse. I really like the fit and fabric of the Doreanse Euro thong, which got me to wanting to try more of their underwear. So today, I’m going to review the Metro thong from them. I’ve said it before that I’m not a fan of the elastic waistbands, which this one has. I thought I’d give it a try, since it is not branded. Plus it is kind of incorporated into the pouch and back with the piping along the leg openings being also sewn into the waistband.

With that being said, I’m not a fan of the waistband. It’s too wide for me even with it being only 1 ¼” wide. Guess I’m just too use to my normal styles without the traditional men’s waistband. I think the thong could also use a little more length in the tail. I feel that would help with comfort of the back at times. Most of the time it’s comfortable and barely noticeable if even at all. Certain things probably including poor sitting posture leads to some pulling with the tail at times for me. Also where you have the waistband sit has some factor in the comfort or pulling too. The tail is only about ¾” wide, so not much fabric will be between the cheeks. The fabric of the thong is nice and soft like their Euro thong. It’s a blend of 45% modal, 45% cotton and 10% lycra. Doreanse does not seem to make a lot of room in their pouch, which works fine for me. Others may not find they have the room they like. This is not a thong for the well hung. It did get a tad roomier once on for a bit, but not much. I do like that it is moderate frontal coverage and does have decent support. They can be machined washed, but says not to tumble dry.

If the thong interests you and you don’t mind the little things I don’t really like about it, then I say go ahead and give it a try. They’re fairly cheap compared to other underwear out there. I might like it better if the waistband was thinner, but I would not buy this one again. I’ll wear it now and then, but won’t be one I go to often.

My Rating Overview

Support Rating: 4.0
Overall Comfort: 4.5
Tail Comfort: 4.5
Recommendation: No thong up

Pros: Nice fabric, price
Cons: Smaller pouch, elastic waistband, needs to sit lower than I like for best comfort.

Hi BD. Doreanse is a Turkish company which,as you say in your review,is at the cheaper end of the underwear market.
I have to agree with you about the need for “a little more length in the tail.”
I’m not sure if this is a problem with all of their thongs and g-strings,but from my own personal experience,it could be. I bought a couple of their g-strings a couple of years ago(size medium),and I would have to say that they were possibly the most uncomfortable strings I have ever worn. The pouch was nice and soft, but the under string was way too short, and after a relatively short time wearing it,it felt like I had a length of barbed wire between my butt cheeks.
Don’t think they will get another airing anytime soon.

I have quite a few pairs of Doreanse thongs, and I’ve found the sizing and fit can vary. The metro is actually one of my favorites, but I can see how the waistband might be bothersome. I have the euro thong as well, and for me that one is less comfortable as the string in the back I find can dig in and become a bit noticeable between the cheeks. I would definitely suggest trying other doreanse thongs, very reasonable priced!

    • Bill, thanks for sharing your experience with the Doreanse thongs. Always good for people to get more views on them. I agree they are priced nicely and I like their fabrics. I have a few more items from them to review.
