Underwear Enthusiasm: Where did it go?

Underwear Enthusiasm: Where did it go?I’m wondering where the underwear enthusiasm went from when we were little? Seems like a lot of the women held on to it or at least they still like a variety with their underwear. If you have young kids then maybe you noticed how excited they are with underwear that has their favorite cartoon characters on it. Am I wrong that kids seems to be excited with superheroes on their undies or Disney princesses or whatever they are into. At what point did that excitement dissipate?

I assume this is a result of what is available in stores for us guys along with what was bought for us. The store selections with their limited options of colors, prints, and styles doesn’t help with the burn out. I don’t recall when the tighty whities became standard in my underwear drawer. They were there for most of my childhood and even a few stuck around for some college. Luckily, I still had some coals smoldering.

I remember the rekindling of the fire for my interest in underwear during my teenage years. I suppose puberty had some influence in this rekindling. Seeing the sexy stuff available for women and how they looked in them got the mind a turning. You know imagining something more revealing than briefs and how they may look on me. My fire really got relit when I saw an Undergear/International Male catalog in my mid teens. Seeing what sexy underwear was out there for guys got things burning to get my hands on some to try. Then when I realized I could go to a local store and buy string bikinis the fire roared into a bonfire at that point. As you can see the fire is still burning strong today with me blogging about it.

It’s too bad most guys’ underwear enthusiasm burns out and never rekindles. I guess guys just want to throw on whatever crappy underwear they find and get on with the day. While the ladies are the ones that want to feel sexy and look sexy for their man. If you are a guy on the fence on trying something new, just do it. Go ahead and get that fire a blazing again. There is nothing better than slipping on a great pair of undies to start your day. Doesn’t your lady deserve some eye candy too.

    Hey bottom drawer,

I really love this website. Thanks for creating it! I’m a guy that can relate to having an interest in underwear too. I wonder as well why us guys are subjected to such a limited choice of underwear. I got into underwear in my early teens and got fired up when I noticed bikini briefs on the shelf at the department store. I wish I had the courage to wear bikinis everyday! It’s too bad there are not more men wearing stylish underwear.

    • Glad to hear you like my blog. At least the Internet has allowed us to defeat the limited choices of the brick and mortar stores. Why don’t you have the courage to wear them everyday? That’s the goal to let guys know there is more stylish underwear out there and it is okay to wear them.

Like you, I developed an underwear interest in my teens, always trying to see what the guys and girls were wearing. It hasn’t stopped 30 years later, still love it.

The Internet has really helped underwear lovers find all types of new styles you never would have seen before.

I don’t know about others, but what I wear affects how I feel, and How I feel affects what I wear.
Yes, they go hand in hand.

In the late 90’s my interest kicked in. Since then I have bought so many different styles. Now you can order online but wouldn’t dare to buy in stores. I own almost every style out there: trunks, mini trunks, bikinis, cheeky, tanga, thongs, strings (except for kinky stuff; not into that). Every month I buy new ones. It is fun to choose what are you going to wear under you clothes or as swimwear.
