Review: Doreanse Aire Thong

Doreanse Aire Thong

I decided to give some more Doreanse underwear a try. With their reasonable prices, I decided it is worth continuing to try to find another winning pair from them. This skimpy thong grabbed my attention. It reminds me of the HOM plume thong I’ve been wanting to try, but probably at about half the price. Plus red undies often grab my attention too. When I pulled it out of the mailer it looked like there wasn’t much of a thong in the plastic bag it was contained in.

The thong fabric is very lightweight and my thought was is it going to have any support! It’s made out of a blend of 75% polyamide and 25% elasthane. The tail of the thong measures at about 7/8”. It has the brand waistband, which I don’t typically go for. I am more a fan of the ones without a distinguished waistband, but at ¼” wide it gets a pass. This thong has the recommendation of being hand washed and air dried. The pouch is contoured with the center seam. The seams is a flat seam, which might be called a french seam.

So what do I think about the Doreanse Aire Thong. When I pulled it out of the package and held it up it looked like it was very tiny and may not hold anything. I found out that was incorrect when I slipped it on. I think it has more pouch room than the other pairs of underwear I’ve tried from Doreanse. Guess that is where the 25% elasthane comes into play and stretches to hold the family jewels. The aire name must be because of how light the fabric is. It’s not transparent at least in the red, but it is a nice lightweight breathable, fast drying fabric. It is very comfortable to wear and you don’t notice the tail of the thong. It could be a great beginner’s thong. It’s an excellent choice for hot weather. It also surprised me that the thong offers good support with the narrow waistband and how light the fabric is.

For me this thong is a winner. It probably is a good idea to hand wash the pair like it says or at least use a delicate laundry bag. Mine recently got stuck to some Velcro of a pair of short pocket closures, which messed up the fabric some. I want to get the other colors it is offered in other than maybe the white when there is a good sale. I’ll get another red instead of the white. My recommendation is to give them a try if they interest you.

My Rating Overview

Support Rating: 3.5
Overall Comfort: 5.0
Tail Comfort: 5.0
Recommendation: Two thongs up

Pros: Lightweight, Very Comfortable
Cons: Delicate Fabric

I just bought 4 (different) Doreanse bikinis from Freshpair. Should be here very soon. They are new to me. I’ll have to let you know how they are.

I much prefer the Doreanse micro string thong. Such fantastic material that offers support, and the small string at the back makes you feel you are not wearing anything at the back. Their very reasonable price point is also a bonus to build up your colletion.

This is my first pair I tried from Doreanse. I really like them. I like the cut and the material of this thong , it’s for great daily wear. The price is definitely a bonus too. After this I’ve got the flashy gstring and really like those too.

I tried the Euro thong first and liked it and got me trying other styles from Doreanse. This thong is beats out the Euro. I just order a flashy g-string to give a try and more of this Aire.

I have never been a fan of red underwear. Both on men and women but damn it, you entice me.

Seems like a great pair and your description made me feel like I’m taking it out of the package. Hehe.

Love the style of it too. Think I’ll ask my local supplier to make me something similar.

    Great Reveiw.

    Wish I had it.

Yes great review! Too, I am not a fan of logo especially in print, however. For me I like red however all reds seem to really bleed when washed cold water woolite etc. Going to send you picture and review of my collection!

I have this same pair. Can barely tell you’re wearing them. I’ve machine washed mine(and air dry), but not with anything with Velcro so thanks for pointing that out. Forgot about them in the bottom of my drawer (pun intended lol) so this review reminded me of them and decided to dig them out today.

It is surprising what you can find in the bottom of the drawer! Some good ones seem to figure out a way to sneak down there. I had the issue with Velcro and baby bibs when my kids wore them. Wasn’t as delicate underwear as this pair back then when some got stuck to it. We’ll see if I learned my lesson next time I put pairs like this in the wash.

Thanks for the in depth review on thongs I enjoy your perspective. I bought a couple of Doreanse from fresh pair the “Aire, hang loose, and euro” just to try them. At the price point I couldn’t deny resist.

    • The Bottom Drawer says:

They are priced reasonably. I haven’t tried the hang loose and decided not to, since one guy I interact with on Twitter didn’t like it. The Aire wins over hand down over the Euro for me, but I do still like the Euro.

      • Mike says:

BD, I’ve got the Hang loose thong and hate it, it’s just not a good fitting thong, I like mine a little more form fitting, oh and not cotton.

I’ll add this one to my wish list. Doreanse seems to have some of the best prices. I have their Euro, but it doesn’t get worn much – the tail is a bit too short for me.

Great review, I totally agree with you these are a great thong, although I’d really say they’re a g string. I’ve got these in white, red, nude, leopard and several black ones.
You’re right about the pouch, much better than the Doreanse Aire brief which isn’t contoured at all.
Sooo comfortable. I machine wash mine and never had a problem with them.

    • The Bottom Drawer says:

My definition of a g-string is when the tail is the same width as the sides.

      • Mike says:

Yep, I get that, but this one is so small and light, I’d still call it a G.
But i can bow to your superior knowledge.
Great web site, thank you so much for creating a space we can all just talk about undies.

        • The Bottom Drawer says:

Some retailers do advertise this thong as a g-strings. Don’t know about superior knowledge! Some times I make up my own definitions for things, especially when there isn’t consistency. I had a discussion with someone about this style cut and we were thinking maybe it should be a tanga thong. Though there is inconsistency with what a Tanga cut is. Some places it is a thong. To some it is a string bikini. What I figured for a Tanga is it is an undergarment with string sides, so we can use it as a descriptor for a thong and a bikini.

Thanks and glad you are enjoying it.
