Review: Jovanadesign’s Mini Thong
This was another acquisition from twitter friend ChiThonger. When I saw the printed, it spoke to me and was one I wanted to have. Now when it arrived I got a bit of a surprise. I guess the print distracted me and I didn’t quite realize the cut of it other than it was a thong. I didn’t know the style was called mini thong when I decided on it. Let me tell you it fits the name!
A quick look at the specifications before I talk about what I think of them. The mini thong has a center seamed contour pouch. The sides measure in at about 5/8″ while the tail measures approximately 7/8″. These are made out of a nylon and lycra blend. It is recommended to hand wash and hang them to dry. For the price of a pair you’d probably want to do that to make them last. At the very least hang them to dry. The thong is made in the United Kingdom.
As I inferred above this is a very tiny cut and not one I would typically choose. I normally like a little wider of a pouch cut. Now I do like to be able to mix things up, which this one does. Now my initial try on when I received the pair said I needed to do a tad more narrower with my manscaping down there. Probably could do some more, since some tucking is required to give a nice clean look still. Can you say narrow U shaped pouch? Then the thong is also a low rise design front and back. Mini thong equals mini pouch! If you are packing it then I don’t see how you’d fit in this one. I mean it does require me to adjust things to make sure everything is contained, especially the sack. However with the small pouch it gives the illusion you are packing it a bit. It brings things up and forward some giving you a little more bulge. The thong provides excellent support, so going to hold you pretty much doing anything.
The first time I wore the thong I only made it a few hours and then had to change. The tail got too uncomfortable. Guess I have trouble with the sweet spot with low cut thongs. The second wearing I did find the right adjustment for comfortable wearing. I could feel the tension, but it was comfortable most of the time. Sitting seems to be a downfall with me and the low rise. That is when they at times would start bothering me after a while.
The mini thong is from jovandesign, which is located somewhere in the UK. They make the items when ordered, which allows them to offer quite a few print options. Seems when this is the case you are going to pay a premium for them. The thong is well constructed and I really like the pattern and color of this one. It’s not the normal cut I would go for, but it will be nice to throw in for a change of pace. I do overall like the fit of the thong especially after finding the sweet spot for comfort for the tail. I however would not pay full price for a pair. I’m not sold on them being worth the price, but my budget range for a pair doesn’t go that high even if they are advertised as swimwear and made when ordered. However it is a fun pair and if you have the budget they are worth a try.

My immediate thoughts on seeing the pictures of this thong were that it’s a swim thong, and Nate is going to struggle to fit everything inside that very narrow pouch. Now I know our modest leader has stated in the past that he doesn’t consider himself overly blessed in that department, so the fact that he struggled to contain the goods and also considered expanding his manscaping routine suggests that this particular thong would have a limited appeal. Have to say the colours alone would certainly get you noticed on a beach, never mind the skimpy dimensions, but it definitely sounds from Nate’s review that it might be more suited to some hours on a beach, rather than a full day under clothes.
This is another one that is advertised as swimwear, but many wear as underwear with it being unlined. It works better for me for a full day that isn’t mostly sitting. If I’m up and about it is a comfortable knowing you are wearing a thong. Would work well for some hours at the beach or sunning in the yard.

The low rise always excite me as I often like to have that Y look. Totally agree it’s a let down when you can’t find the sweet spot.
I have a Chinese Tear drop style though. Very sexy on the body, not so much for all day wear.
Especially trying to keep the moving parts contained.
Got me away from my draw to animal prints. Though it’s hard to find prints beside animal and camo prints unless you go more the made to order route. Then you have to pay more.

Man, I need some more prints too! But I like a roomy pouch or one that pushes forward at least. This looks like it could be cool as a swimsuit or for short-term wear.
That “located somewhere in the UK” is actually London. I could not find anything on the website but the address is mentioned on the invoice. I’d say the items are too expensive for general use, but I’ve ordered a couple of designs to test them. It can’t hurt to try something new.

The items have finally arrived and they are great. I’ll report on them in due course. Each one had small label attached to it, with the name of the style and the size. It was labelled “Jovanadesign sexy lingerie”. I wonder if that is what she intends for her designs – they are male lingerie and not meant for everyday underwear. That would explain the high price. But I’d say this woman knows what she is doing as the fit and form are superb. Give her products a go if you want, but with the high cost you must choose carefully as you can’t afford to just check them away due to incorrect sizing.

More of the same designs in different fabric were ordered in late May. The order numbers differed by 68, so for the same number of days she is getting about an order a day.
