Kiniki Retailer Review
Update 12/19/16: It’s been close to seven years, since I ordered last from Kiniki. I finally made a new purchase from them a couple weeks back now during one of their sales. Not sure why I’ve waited so long. Well, I guess part was due that the dollar was weak compared to the pound. Let’s say I’m very pleased with my purchase of a micro brief, tanga, thong, and a swim brief. The quality and fit that I’ve known is still there. One change is they have fancy packaging now for their underwear. Gives you the impression you are buying high end underwear, which I guess I would say you are. But the nice thing the pricing wasn’t high end. I paid about $9.25 a a pair with shipping, which is really a great deal. I know below I said they were a little expensive after the conversion, but now that I’ve been blogging awhile I see others pricing much higher. Plus the the dollar isn’t as weak as it use to be against the pound. To me they are still true to size, but others seem to think they run a little small. I do like my underwear to be snug, but their medium fits me well and that is what I typically buy in other brands. Kiniki is a brand I still think is worth a try. Will be review my new pairs at some point in 2017, so keep watch.
I made my first purchase from Kiniki’s back in 1999. Kiniki is a UK underwear supplier based in Staffordshire, England. All their fabrics and components are sourced domestically. Kiniki was established in 1973 and opened their first factory in 1975. They’ve been in the business for over 40 years.
Kiniki makes excellent quality men’s underwear and swimwear and recently expanded into women’s underwear, swimwear, and dresses, which I’m sure is great quality too. Maybe I’ll have to get some for my wife next time I order. Their underwear is a little expense when converted to US currency, but the quality is worth it especially if you hit their 50% off sales on certain styles. So keep your eyes peeled for those if you want to give Kiniki a try. I’ve been satisfied with all my purchases from them. No issues with shipping and don’t recall having to contact customer support.
I’ve purchased both underwear and swimwear from them and am very pleased with both. Everything has been a great fit, well made, and long lasting. They’re line has changed, since I last purchased from them. Some of the underwear I like best that they still carry are the Micro Brief, Gentsmart Brief, Vince Brief, and Cha Cha Thong. See the products I have reviewed of theirs here.

I just ordered Kiniki Kelly. Big sale online: https://kiniki-usa.com/search?type=product&q=*kelly*
I saw they were running 65% off until Monday. I have the Kelly tanga. Want to get another Riviera swim bikini that I just posted the review of today.
Does their Tan-through work?
I don’t own any, but I have read they do allow sun to pass through. So it does tan the skin underneath, but not as much as exposed skin. The suits have a bunch of small holes in it to allow the sun to get through. Sorry I can’t give an answer based on experience, but maybe someone else will come across your question that has worn one.
I think if you wore one for the duration of an average vacation, you would probably notice a difference on the parts that are usually covered up. I know Kiniki recommend that you apply sunscreen underneath their tan through range, which would suggest that it does actually work.
I have a tan through tanga and a thong, but I didn’t wear them for any length of time so I can’t vouch for their effectiveness, however,I did notice the thong became transparent when I was in the sea.
