Review: Body Aware Organic Cotton Thong

Body Aware Organic Cotton ThongLet me start this review off with this organic cotton thong was sent to me by Body Aware to give it a try. I have reviewed pairs I have bought from them in the past. As always I do my best to give you my thoughts on the pair. If you haven’t read my Q&A with David from Body Aware then check out that post here. Let’s take a look at this thong.

First this isn’t your typically cotton thong. It is made from organic cotton with a tad of spandex added in for some stretch, It is 95% organic cotton and 5% spandex. Also let me note that the spandex is recycled polyester spandex. You can read more about their organic cotton here. The pair is a fairly traditional thong cut. It does feature a flat front pouch design. The pouch is a little less than full frontal coverage. The tail measures about ⅞” and the sides are around 1”. This particular pair is made in Bangladesh, but of course designed in the USA. The thong can be machined washed warm and tumble dry low. The branding on the thong is an imprint of the Body Aware logo on the middle back of the thong triangle. At the time of this review the thong is available in four colors and in sizes S to 2XL.

Well, I limit cotton typically in my bikinis and thongs, because they’re usually too warm for me other than when the weather turns cold. Now this organic cotton is different from my other underwear with cotton. It is a lighter weight, more breathable, and softer cotton fabric. For me that is all good things to have in a pair of cotton underwear. I find the thong to be very comfortable to wear. It has done well with all day wear and running errands. I haven’t found it too warm for me as of yet. The flat front pouch design offers good support for me for a daily wearer. The tail I find to be very comfortable for all day wear, which isn’t always the case with some of the cotton thongs I have tried. Seems like this could be a good choice for someone just getting into wearing thongs. Occasionally I have had the back slide down some when wearing them particularly under jeans at least from where I like them to sit. Under leggings they have stayed in place well. I find the branding of the pair to be done tastefully with just adding their logo as a small element to the rear triangle.

This is a pair for those that really like the flat front pouch, which I know isn’t everyone. I typically go more for contoured pouches, but I do have many flat front pouches that are great. Sometimes I find they give a better look for me under my leggings. As with other Body Aware pairs I have bought, the quality is solid. Yes, the pair is a little more expensive than a lot of pairs I typically review. You need to remember you are buying from a US and UK based brand that design the pairs in-house. Though really if you compare them to other US and European brands they aren’t really expensive. They are a brand I am willing to spend a bit more on than I normally like to spend on underwear. If this particular style isn’t up your alley then check out their other offerings. I’d also recommend checking out their swimwear. They have some nice looking suits right now!

I’m a big fan of BodyAware gear, but not so much cotton undies, I know they’ve got some spandex in them, but I really prefer more spandex, nylon, ice silk types of materials.
I just prefer the thinner materials.
That said some of the BodyAware undies in Italian stretchable spandex are sensational.

Absolutely love Bodyaware! I wish they would do more products in yellows and oranges! It’s always blue items, which is nice, but I think we all could use some more colour in our drawer!
