Review: rayv50 Traditional Thong
Going with another rayv50 pair for my review. This one is a traditional cut thong. I like the horizontal stripes of the pair is why I went with this one. As I’ve stated on my other pairs of his I’ve reviewed, the quality is awesome of his stuff.
This pair is made of a knit fabric, which is a blend of 80% polyester, 15% cotton, and 5% spandex. It features a centered seamed contour pouch. The pouch is a double layer of fabric, which he states as lined in his description. The sides of the thong measure about 1 1/2″ and the tail width is around 1″. This pair can be machined washed and dried. You’ll have to check out his description to get the details of a particular pair.
Well, I’m a little disappointed in this thong. It’s not quite doing it for me in a couple areas. The first and most important is the tail. It’s not comfortable for all day wear or at least regularly. There seems to be a magic spot where it fits best, which I don’t always get the right adjustment for. Then my other issue is the pouch can be a bit warm. I think some of this comes a little down to fabric even though it is only 15% cotton. Then with the pouch having a double layer of fabric, the breathability of the fabric is being reduced. This thong does offer great support, but I think it would still have good support with one layer of fabric. Initially it feels like a great fitting thong when I put it on. When I have the right tail adjustment with it, it does feel great on.
I think I’d like to try another thong in this style in a different fabric from rayv50. Also I think I’d aim for one with a single layer of fabric for the pouch. At the moment I can’t give high praise for this particular cut. I’ll still wear the thong on occasion, but it won’t be one I pull out often. In general I still think rayv50 underwear is worth giving a try.

Ways to Support The Bottom Drawer by Shopping

I like the pattern, it’s so difficult to find reasonably priced thongs with pattern/designs. Seems most are solid. The tail looks to wide to me.
Some thongs can stand out in a picture, but even a special appearance by the blog’s hot inhouse model would struggle to raise this one above the mundane. The black and white stripes also remind me of the clothing that convicts wore back in the day.
