Review: Kiniki Gentsmart Brief

kiniki gentsmart bikini brief
I’ve been reviewing quite a bit of Kiniki underwear lately, but it is hard to beat the quality for the price. It has been almost 20 years now, since I started buying from them. The Gentsmart brief is one I’ve owned in the past and recently added a new pair to my drawer. That should be a hint on the result of this review.

If you are looking for a bikini that shows a little bit more of the butt then take a look at this pair. Kiniki advertise the bikini as a half back, but it is probably a conservative one. It does show cheek a bit more than a 3/4 back. Now a lot of half backs turn into wedgies, but this one stays in place like you want a bikini back to do that isn’t a cheekie style..

These are a very comfortable bikini made out of 95% cotton and 5% elastane, which they call a stretch cotton. The elastane allows them to give a bit of a hold and forming to the body. Kiniki describes the fabric like this “gives all the benefits of cotton but with a much better fit, feel and shape retention.” Not really enough cling for the boys to be real active wearing them though. I’d categorize the pouch support for lounging and leisure activities. The bikini brief does have a center seamed contour pouch. The sides measure about 1 1/4″. The Gentsmart bikini can be hand or machine wash, but says not to tumble dry them.

I’ve been very happy with this bikini for years. It’s a great, fairly basic pair of underwear that for me I find to be a solid choice. I do wish they offered more than 5 colors, which at the moment are white, mulberry, navy, denim, and black. They could use a couple brighter colors. Overall I’m happy with the cut, fit, and styling of the bikini brief and wouldn’t hesitant to buy yet again.

My Rating Overview

Support Rating: 3.5
Overall Comfort: 5.0
Recommendation: Two thongs up

Pros: Half backish that stays in place
Cons: Not many color options

Very much agree with this review. I’ve got a couple of pairs and they are great bikinis for lounging in or wearing under a suit. I also agree they are more conservative than a half back and are just the right side of being skimpy on the butt for my preference.

I also agree with the review, but I tumble dry all my Kiniki underwear and have never found that it affects their longevity. Concur with no sideways slip to a wedgie – where you put most Kiniki wear is where it stays. If a tighter front is preferred they have brought out the narrow fronted Harry. Grips great and also benefits from a half back.

The Harry is one on my list to get. The only pair from Kiniki that sticks out that even seems to start sneaking for me it the Kelly tanga. It starts out staying in place, but seems to stretch out over the day and slides. Not a breaking point for me. Just a reminder that I’m wearing something sexy. Good to know that you have had luck tumble drying the Kiniki brand. I typically just hang all my pair of undies no matter the directions.

No experience with this bikini, but I’d agree that Kiniki products at half-price or better are good value for money.
