Review: Body Aware Lined Tanga Swim Brief
I really tried to resist buying this swimsuit, since it will be pushing it a bit for the local beach. Plus I really did not need another swimsuit. However, It just kept saying buy me buy me! Less than two days after seeing it I bought it. I’m usually pretty good at holding out, but the price wasn’t too much out of my swimsuit buying price range. Then with it being Body Aware, I knew the quality was going to be good. So my willpower was pretty weak for holding out buying this swim bikini brief.
This swim bikini is made of a blend of 90% nylon and 10% spandex. The sides measure in around 3/4″. I put it in at about 3/4 back. The back features a center seam. The pouch is a center seamed contour. It is front lined and has no drawstring. They’re made in the USA. It can be machined washed.
This Body Aware Lined Tanga swim brief is right on with the bikini cut I like. It has a moderate cut front, the 3/4 back, and narrow sides. It’s along the lines of a bodybuilder posing suit. I find that it fits me pretty well. It has a nice pouch that holds the package in place well. However, the lining does not prevent VPL if that is a concern. The color black might do a better job than the other colors. The back hugs the butt nicely and shows a bit of your cheeks. I like that this suit has the center seam in the rear. That is something I always liked about my Speedo Solar swim briefs. It gives a bit of definition to the butt. I would say a little more so with this swim bikini brief with it having less rear coverage.
As with other Body Aware items I’ve bought, this swim brief is well made. I think it is a pretty good price for a swim brief too. If I went to the beach more often or had a good place to wear it, I would consider it in another color. It is available in a thong style, which would probably be a great thong swimsuit. Hopefully, I’ll find a place where I will feel comfortable wearing this. Might have to plan a road trip in a future summer.

Well, speak of the devil.
I went swimming today, and thought it wasn’t this particular suit I wore, I did wear a suit with the tanga cut.
It is like if a thong, and a full bikini had a child.
It’s not too much, is that you are not giving yourself enough credit.
I wore mine today at the pool, without any problems. Mine are from Joe Snyder, s as well as I also have some from skinzwear.
Sometimes you just have to dive in, and go for it. Nobody would have said anything to you. I wore mine, I noticed just some people had on shades, and their head just so happens to turn in my direction, but I’m not paying them any attention. But I know they’re catching a glance.
Pretty sure this one has more coverage than the one you opted for. You are right I probably would be fine wearing. I think people are even less likely to comment, since normally the wife and kids are with me. Sometimes I feel like I’m wearing a skimpier swimsuit than all the women at the beach with the Speedo Solar. Part of that is due to not going to the beach area with the younger crowds. I’d like to use this one for getting some sun, which I don’t get to do with the kids. I spend most of my time in the water with them.
You said “ Sometimes I feel like I’m wearing a skimpier swimsuit than all the women at the beach with the Speedo Solar.” My question to you is; why should it matter. Why would that even be a matter for you? If she can wear a bikini in front of families, then so can you, If you wish. That’s why we have such a stigma with fashion now. You’re still even shaming yourself as well as us men. That’s why thongs and bikinis get the criticism that they get.
For us to get thongs back on the scene, we must accept bikinis. If you’re going to rock the bikini, then do it right, don’t half-step. And stand by your choice.
Should it matter, No. Does it matter, to some extent. I like to be in line with what the women at the beach are wearing. I find in my area the Speedo Solar fits in fairly well. It’s actually probably smaller than over 50%, maybe approaching 75% of the women’s bottoms at the beach we like to go to. If it really mattered, I wouldn’t be wearing swim briefs at all. I’d be following the crowd. This suit and the Dietz Traxx mentioned are probably the smallest I’d really wear to the beach anyhow. I don’t always like how the smaller back ones look on me and as you mentioned they’re not always good at staying in place. Thongs aren’t legal to wear here. Not exactly on my bucket list to wear one to the beach anyhow.
While I think it’s great that you have reached a stage where you can confidently wear your skimpiest swimwear and not give a damn about what people might say, I feel you have to respect that not everyone has or will reach that level of devil may care attitude.
I have to say I was disappointed by some of your comments directed at Nate. “You’re still even shaming yourself as well as us men!” Anyone who has followed Nate’s struggles to become comfortable in even the most conservative of speedos to where he is now will know how far he has come and how it can still be a struggle for him to go skimpy. I’ll admit that when I saw the pics of the bodyaware tanga in this review, I thought wow! Nate is really pushing the envelope, and hopefully he might do us the honour of posting a selfie wearing it(lol).
I’m personally grateful that Nate puts so much time and creative energy into maintaining this blog and forum which gives many of us a chance to voice our opinions and share our good and sometimes bad experiences on all things underwear/swimwear related. I live in hope that one day I will read an account of Nate’s first time wearing a swim thong on a beach, but if it doesn’t happen, I won’t feel let down or think any less of the man.
We are all at different stages of reaching our ultimate goals, but we will only get there with encouragement, not condemnation!
I apologize if I offended anybody. I really mean no offense, but if we are going to get anywhere in our mission, we must move forward, and press forward, without any doubt, and not let anything stop us. Unfortunately we as humans can even be our own worst enemy.
But I really mean no offense, and o apologize if I offended.
And yes, you have kids, that’s great, but teach them the maturity of being an adult at an early age. You’re their father, they will have respect do you regardless. And they too will become adults who support your beliefs, Off the society does not ruin them, but the advantage you have is the strength to make a stronger and firmer foundation of beliefs, and freedom.
They’re the ones that drove me to finally just convert to swim briefs when going to the beach locally. I decided it had to be done before my son got any older at the time. He definitely notices I’m not following the crowds. Think my daughter is starting to notice I’m opting for a different style too. They’ve noticed my underwear is different too. Gotten comments like your underwear is in your butt. Will they follow my choice some day or follow the crowds. Time will tell.
Looks like a great suit.
I could see immediately it looks like back shows a little cheek.
I thinks it’s safe for local beaches 🤭
Yes it’s cheeky.
Buy the thing to watch out for is getting the right size. If you don’t get it the right size, then while wearing, it will turn in to a thong.
The ones I have, and with my physique, while wet, they are okay, but if they are dry, that’s when they turn into a thong.
I’m quite tempted by the thong variant, although, like you, I don’t need any more swimsuits.
It is a nice looking thong swimsuit. I decided to go with the bikini, since there is a better chance of me wearing it.

These aren’t thongs, but they aren’t a full back like a brief, and they are low cut.
Just worn mine, a thong, of course (I only wear tangas where I am prevented from wearing thongs, which seems unfortunately to be most swimming pools nowadays) for the first time, and it really was something. Did as much sunning of the buns as I could fit into a couple of hours, walking across a sandbar. Of course people noticed, and I could hear a bunch of young girls remarking on both my wearing a thong and how small the straps were. They were very definitely amused rather than scandalised.
Looks very similar to the Dietz Traxx swimmers, may have to purchase these now.
The sides don’t look too much smaller than a Speedo Solar brief, so I’d feel comfortable wearing it at a beach here in Texas.
The back does look a bit abbreviated, but still much more coverage than a thong. How is it compared to a Dietz brief?
The dietz traxx is a full back brief.
These look almost like full back, depending on how much of an ass you have.
I wore a tanga, or a Capri bikini.
I wore the one on the link below, too a regular pool with no problems.
It’s very cheeky, if you have the nerve to wear, I wore it, and I have a healthy butt.
The Traxx are a full back, basic.
Here are the ones I wore yesterday, with no problem
Well, I thought I posted a link, but it failed. But if you look up the Joe Snyder Capri Bikini.
Or Skinzwear Sunseeker 2 which comes with a “Rio” back, it’s very cheeky.
The sides are probably about half that of the Speedo Solar. I don’t know if this is a fair comparison based on proper sizing, since I should have ordered a large in the Traxx brief based on the size chart. This is comparing a medium in the Traxx with a medium in this one. They are pretty close in cut. The Traxx has the thicker sides, so has a tad more front coverage near the top of the pouch. The back of the BodyAware one sits just a little lower in the back and the back is also really just a tad smaller more at the base of the back. Then the Traxx as the draw string and the BodyAware does. So overall the are pretty similar in cut with the sizes I have them in. If I ordered the Traxx in the large it appears it would have been giving more coverage and sitting higher than the medium.
Looks like a great style. Bodyaware definitely makes nice stuff, I am a fan of their tangas and thongs. Hope they come up with this in their underwear line .
I wish they came with a drawstring to keep them in place when swimming laps whule working out
You are right this swimsuit would be more suitable for sunning or just getting in the water to cool off.
I bought this in black over the summer. Really like the cut, fit, comfort, everything. Also bought the thong in blue, love it too. Noticed that stock ran out for my size in both cuts, so I emailed the company. Sorry sold out, no plans to make more either unfortunately. I did fin another white thong in my size luckily and bought that. Bummed out that they won’t continue this great swimwear line that sold out so quickly. Oh well.
Now, I did find a Modus Vivendi swimsuit that is very similar in cut, and is possibly even a little more comfortable. So I bought two of those (red and sky blue).
I mostly wear these either at my backyard pool or out boating on the water (both out of eyeshot of people), as they are very brief.
Finally, completely unrelated, check out the body aware website now. They’ve come out with organic cotton underwear, for which the thong is super comfortable.
That is one thing with a lot brands now, they don’t continue to carry their styles very long. I almost picked this up in the black the other day, but decided I probably wouldn’t wear them enough to have two of them. Modus Vivendi is on my list to try some of their stuff some day. I did consider their organic cotton thong when they released it, but have been trying to watch how much I spend on underwear and swimwear.
That’s a damn sexy swim bikini; not only the cut but the colour. Not sure about the seam at the back though, but love that style of lining. I could easily slip into that and go to the beach. Would love one in royal blue, white, pale blue but would definitely settle of that wine colour as it’s so different!
