Review: rayv50 Waistband Thong

This thong goes against my no waistband rule for a pair of underwear. Usually it is only thinner ones I let slide like the Doresane Aire thong by the rule. So why did this one get a pass? One reason is I’m drawn to black pairs and the red accent piping grabbed my attention saying buy me. Then it is just a plain black elastic waistband with no branding. There is a bit of nostalgia with the purchase. I never had any thongs like this in the early days, but it did sound like there were some similar to it at some stores that many of you got your hands on. I only came across string bikinis with the plain elastic waistband, so in a way it is kind of a throw back thing to my early days of my bikini and thong journey. Then I just wanted to try as many different styles of rayv50’s, since I think he does good work and has them at great prices for my pocket book.
Here’s some details on the thong I got. The waistband is slightly less than an inch at about 7/8″. It has a center seamed contoured pouch. This thong is made of 100% spandex. It has a traditional thong back that measures around 1 1/4″. Says it can be machined, washed cold and tumble dry low. I still hang it to dry.
While this isn’t my typical thong style it is still a nice one. The main thing is that it is a very comfortable thong. The support is good for everyday wear. Probably not a good choice for sports or real active things. The moderate coverage is about the coverage I like. Maybe a tad less would be right on target. Rear coverage of the thong is good. I think taking a little length out to make the back sit a wee bit lower would be ideal for me too.
Overall it’s a good thong even with the waistband I typically pass on. For me the changes I mentioned would make it better for me. I’ll continue to wear it for sure. Hard to beat the price he sells many of his pieces for. Poshmark’s shipping is a bit pricey though. In general I recommend checking out his items. If you like this style, I’d say give it a try if you see a fabric you like in it.

Pros: Unique fabric/print selections, very comfortable thong
Cons: I’m not a waistband fan, could use a little less length to get the back to sit a little lower.
Ways to Support The Bottom Drawer by Shopping

Back in the days when I first started getting into thongs, I would definitely have been drawn to this one if I had seen it displayed in a high street store. The contrasting colours of black and red are eye catching, and the spandex material looks shiny and sexy. I’m just wondering if it would pass as a swim thong at the beach?
I don’t know if it could pass with the waistband looking like an underwear waistband to me.
I agree about it being eye-catching. Are there no g-strings in the range.
It’s a nice looking thong, I like the contrasting colors. It’s often difficult to find mens underwear in general in patterns/colors the are budget friendly. I personally don’t mind a waist band, sometimes it helps to set off the thong and sometimes it helps to conceal that the garment is a thong.
