Review: Skinzwear Stuffit Pouch Bikini (M74)

Skinzwear M74 Stuffit Pouch Bikini BriefThis M74 Stuffit Pouch Bikini brief has been in my drawer for a couple of years and for some reason I haven’t reviewed it yet. It’s from before Skinz changed hands and it is now technically their Micro Pouch Full Back Bikini. I’m assuming they’re still using the same patterns, so I decided to still review it. Skinzwear is advertised more as swimwear than underwear, but many wear them for underwear too. They can kind of be both, but I look at them more for underwear. Most of their pairs come unlined. I like my swimwear lined for the most part.

Let’s look at some of the details of this bikini brief. First the print I got is made of a blend of 83% Antron nylon and 17% Lycra. It’s recommended to hand wash and hang dry the bikini. The sides measure in at about 7/8”. It’s a full back cut with a contoured center seam pouch. The pair is made in the USA.

I would call this a classic bikini cut with the sides at around the inch mark. Along with the full back and moderate frontal coverage. Overall it is a solid bikini cut. I do feel the back near the middle bottom is a bit loose. You can tell a bit it bunches. This could be the fabric more than the cut. Also I’m kind of between sizes and I went with the larger size, so maybe the size down would be better for my rear. I do like the Stuffit pouch design. It holds everything nicely for me. I assume it is the same as what they are calling a micro pouch these days. The pair I got can be a tad warm worn as underwear I find, which is what I typically wear Skinzwear as. I think that has to do with the particular fabric of the pair I got. Now with the thickness of the fabric and the print, I’d consider wearing this particular bikini as swimwear in the right atmosphere even though it is not lined. It will be more of a colder weather pair for underwear.

If you like the cut I would say give them a try. I probably won’t buy this particular model again. I’d like a little less rear coverage, especially for wearing it as underwear. I would probably go with the smaller size next time if I did decide to get the M74 model again, but it would have to be on sale. It’s a pair I’ll wear on occasion and maybe I’ll give it a whirl as swimwear.
