Review: Tropical Thongs Classic Thong

Tropical Thongs have been on the try list for quite some time. Finally, I took advantage of one of their sales and bought two styles to try. Tropical Thongs are based in Florida. They have a nice selection of prints. The first thong I’m reviewing is their classic thong.
This thong fits the standard thong cut hence the name classic. It features a pretty full coverage pouch which is center seamed and contoured. It has the traditional cut tail that is about an inch wide. Sides on the thong also measure at about an inch. The fabric is a nylon and spandex blend, but doesn’t say the percentages. It is recommend to hand wash them in cool water and mild soap. Then hanging them up to dry is recommended. The thong is made in the USA.
My draw to Tropical Thongs is the print selection. Though I did mainly look at pairs that were on sale for my initial try of the brand. Their prices aren’t too bad for having a print selection. They are more than I typically go for a pair even though they advertise their thongs as swimwear. They do have 15% off sales somewhat regularly.
Let me start with the fabric. It’s a winner to me for underwear. It’s a nice weight that isn’t very thick, so it makes this pair work great for underwear. It has a nice stretch and is comfortable and not restrictive on the privates. I personally would not wear this thong as swimwear. I like a thicker fabric for my swimwear and typically prefer lined pouches in swimwear.
For the most part the pair is a decent thong. It fits fairly well all the way around. The pouch offers decent support. I wouldn’t mind the pouch to be a bit less coverage but it is a classic cut. I do like traditional back cuts so I like the looks of the rear of this pair. I do find the tail of this pair can become uncomfortable at times. It may need a little more length in the tail for me. I’m not 100% sure if it is the sitting posture that starts it or what. When I first pull it on and have it situated it feels like a great overall fit.
If you like the classic or standard thong cut and a fan of prints then take a look at Tropical Thongs offering in the style. Probably not the cut I would opt for with another purchase, since I do like a little less frontal coverage. Still a nice looking thong that appears to be well made. Stay tuned for the other pair, which is the one I would personally opt for over this one.
Pros: Nice fabric blend with decent cling
Cons: The rear is not always confortable

I checked their website. They do have some nice styles, but I think it lacks some important information.
I could not find a size chart, and the items listed were by size and limited at that, so there were not many of size S, and none at all for the 2XL.
All the items I checked just listed the fabric as the blend, not the actual proportions of the fabrics.
Custom order, which I thought might allow me to order a custom-made style, just said that more products were coming. Same for Sheer.
The size chart is at the bottom of the home page
Thanks, Mike, I found it.
Also just below that is a section on how to order custom-made products. It’s as easy as sending them an email.
These Tropical Thongs look great, I agree the pouch looks a little on the large size, but I’d still wear it. I love the pattern (and I like blue), the back is almost perfect for me.
Unlike you, I always prefer thinner material and always cut any liner out, so it would be almost perfect for me, can’t wait to see the next one.
