Land’s End Active Swim Brief

Lands End Active Swim BriefI’ve kept my eye on this Lands’ End Active Swim Brief, since spotting it on their site back in March. It’s more conservative cut then I would really like to wear. But Lands’ End is known for quality clothing and I decided I needed some conservative swim brief to maybe get into wearing them more. I thought the color layout of the gray and black with the white and bright green accent on the side gave it a bit of character over a solid colored brief without making it too loud. Near the end of summer I saw the price of this drop quite a bit and I was toying with just buying it, but that didn’t come a reality until my wife decided she wanted to order some things.

Now on with the review. Overall it is a decent swim brief. I like that the fabric is a lighter lycra blend and has some stretchiness to it. The fabric is a 78% polyester and 22% lycra along with a UPF 50 sun protection. The front is fully lined and has a flat drawstring. Pretty much a flat front full coverage with a little bit of a center seam at the bottom of the pouch for a tad of contour. It has the Lands’ End lighthouse logo on the left front hip in gray. Definitely a full back swim brief. The sides are a 3 1/4″. The swim brief is made in Sri Lanka and is to be hand washed and line dried. Hopefully these will play a hand into me wearing swim briefs more often.

My Rating Overview

Support Rating: 5.0
Overall Comfort: 5.0
Recommendation: One thong up*

*Really it is an overall good swim brief just not my style, so that is really the only reason for one thong up.

These have a nice design and nice colour combo. As you say it’s good to have a spectrum of swim briefs ranging from conservative to skimpy bikinis. I’m sure these would be fine to wear in any public pool. Good to go with a darker colour too.
