2019 Bikini Favorites
It’s that time of year again to go over my top 5 favorite bikini pairs I’ve been pulling out of the drawer this year. I decided to drop my Dietz Joker Mini Slip & Pulso in Sport Mesh, which were in the 4th position out of the top 5 this year. I’ll be introducing a new pair that I’ve finally tried out this year. You can check out my top picks from last year in the 2018 post here. Let’s take a look at my selection for 2019.
5. Prevail Sport Rio Brief
Holding at number 5 is the Prevail Sport Rio Brief. The Rio is a great string bikini with moderate coverage pouch and 3/4 back. I’ve been buying this model for years and love the fit and look of these on. Unfortunately Prevail Sport is closing up shop for retirement, so if you want a pair you’ll have to get on it.
4. Kiniki Cambridge Tanga
Dropping from the third position to the 4th is Kiniki’s Cambridge Tanga to make room for another one of their styles at number 3. This is a great everyday bikini. It’s super comfortable with the supplex lycra blend. For me it has the right amount of frontal and rear coverage and holds the boys nicely. I’m always a fan of a solid string bikini as you can see by this list. It appears the Cambridge line is no longer offered, which is a bummer. I wanted to add another pair.
3. Kiniki Narrow Front Brief – Print
This narrow front bikini brief is the new pair that I reviewed this year. With Prevail Sport going out of business, this is probably going to be my replacement style for the number one bikini on my list. Right now it is the pair that fits the coverage I like front and back. It shows some cheek in the rear and gives moderate coverage with a firm hold up front. The bad thing is it seems Kiniki is discontinuing a lot of their prints. The style is available in other fabrics, so hopefully the cut stays around.
Available at Kiniki
2. Blueline Microfiber String Bikini
The fit of the Blueline microfiber string bikini is keeping it at number 2 yet for another year. There really isn’t anything fancy about this pair. The microfiber gives these a nice overall fit and makes them a good option for something a bit active. I like that the back isn’t full coverage. This string bikini is often a choice I wear for doctor visits.
Available at? Check eBay or Amazon or a search engine. I do not have an online store I’ve ordered from before that carries them. These appear to be a discontinued brand.
1. Prevail Sport String Brief
Keeping reign at number 1 is the string brief from Prevail Sport. They have been a favorite, since I discovered them pretty much in the beginning of my bikini wearing. I love the cut of these with the narrow sides, 3/4 back, and moderate pouch. First time I pulled them on I knew they were going to be a hit. It’s the style I wear the most year after year. I’ve added several more pairs with them going out of business. Probably try to add even some more.
What was your go to bikini(s) this year?
