Review: Modus Vivendi Low Cut Brief in Tiger
I’ve been eyeing the brand Modus Vivendi stuff for years. They always have several pairs that appeal to me. Several times I’ve come close to buying! Thanks to Haut Underwear, I have now been able to try a pair of Modus Vivendi underwear. As with all my reviews I do my best to say it how it is.
This Tiger low cut brief is a bikini cut. The pouch has a bit of contouring at the base, but when on they appear to be a flat front. I know with prints that some like that, so the pattern isn’t disturbed and mismatched. The sides of the bikini measure about 3/4″. I’d put the back at a 3/4 back. The fabric is a blend of 95% Viscose and 5% Elastan. They can be machine or hand wash cold, but should be hung to dry. There is a black rubber feeling branding tag on the left side of this pair.
The cut of this brief is a pretty decent bikini cut. It’s close to my ideal cut. I wouldn’t mind a tad smaller in the back, but it’s a pretty darn close to what I like. Overall the fit feels solid on me. I fall right on the line of medium and large with them. I decided to go with a medium for a snugger fit, since I normally like a firm hold of everything. That was the right call for me. Aesthetically, I’d still prefer a center seamed pouch, but it’s not a deal breaker for me on a pair. The pouch keeps everything nice and snug for me. I wouldn’t put it as a roomy pouch at all. There is stretch to the fabric which is needed for flat fronts to not be too restrictive. I’m thinking for this pair you probably don’t want to be above average in size. Really it could be a bit snug for the average guy too especially if you don’t like a bit of a squeeze. The back shows some cheeks and has a firm hold of them. It stays in place solidly. It’s comfortable for all day wear from lounging to on the go.
Overall I’m happy with how this pair has performed. For me it is on the edge of being a two thongs up pair. It’s a bit of a pricey pair for me and I’d really like it with a centered seamed contour pouch. I’m going to give it one thong up in my overview though probably like 1 1/2 thongs. I’d definitely give another pair of Modus Vivendi a try at some point. Check out Haut Underwear’s offering and use my affiliate code for TBDHAUT for 15% off.

Very nice, that’s exactly th3 sort of narrow sided brief I love.
Good review , I haven’t tried Modus vivendi yet. It looks like a pretty comfy bikini. I like the flat front with the smaller sides . I to like a little smaller cut in the back .
This is a brand I’ve thought about trying, I am a 34/35 large in most brands. Their Large is 33/34 and xl is 35/36, since they are a pricier pair – I would rather catch one on sale – in the off chance they didn’t fit well. I’m okay with a snug fit, but not choking.
They have some decent sales now. https://e-modusvivendi.com/sales/
Being viscose, what is the moisture absorption like compared to cotton, or modal if you have tried that fabric.
I guess I don’t recall sweating in the particular pair to say for sure about the moisture absorption. Viscose is supposed to be absorbent though. I’d say it is more breathable than cotton.
